Sawyer's First Birthday

The last picture of miss Sawyer before turning one!
Growing up my mom always decorated our rooms and once we got older, our doorways.  It was so fun waking up to decorations, it really made you feel special on your birthday!  What a fun tradition I can carry on for our children :)

We successfully decorated in her room while she was sleeping :)  I had originally intended on hanging balloons from the light but with the fan on, they made a lot of noise!

Next best spot for the balloons was on the door.

Although still looking pretty sleepy, she was pretty happy when she saw the streamers on her door.

I just love that she enjoyed her room being decorated even at just one year old!
Someone is in disbelief that she is one year old!
Jeremy and I were lucky enough to be able to take off on Sawyer's birthday to spend the day with her.  We wanted to do something fun with her and since we couldn't find a pumpkin patch or apple orchard that was open during the week by us.  We already know she loves animals and has enjoyed the zoo in the past so it was the perfect thing to do!  It was a perfect fall day and the zoo wasn't very crowded.  It's amazing how quickly you can get through the whole zoo when it's not a weekend!

Before going to the zoo, we went out to lunch at Olive Garden.  Pasta is one of Sawyer's favorite foods so it was a hit!

After the zoo we headed home and I had one of her other favorite foods cooking in the crock pot - Cheesy Broccoli Soup.  If that wasn't enough of a day for her, we headed to the new frozen yogurt place, Berry Blast, and enjoyed a little treat!  She isn't a fan of the cold yogurt so she enjoyed a few pieces of birthday cake and cheesecake instead!

We hope you had a wonderful first birthday Sawyer!
