Alright, so I have my first CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) test on Wednesday. The test I'm taking is on Finance for Risk Management and Insurance Professionals, which is one of 3 tests that was just changed from being an essay test to an objective test (MC). With the multiple choice tests I've taken in the past, when I earned my AU and AIS, you received your score right away, it's multiple choice, why wouldn't you right?
Tonight I went to take my first practice quiz for the test and get this notice: "Because of the change to an objective (multiple choice) style of exam for this course, students taking this exam in the January 15—March 15, 2010 Testing Window will not receive their grades when they finish this exam. Results will be returned to the Institutes for analysis along with the results of everyone taking this exam. Grades will be released by March 26, 2010."
Hence my title. Really...I have to wait 2 months to get my score!? Now I haven't failed a test yet (knock on wood) but if I were to fail this test on Wednesday I was planning on taking it again within the next couple of weeks while all the information is still fresh in my mind. Now, heaven forbid I fail it, I won't know for 2 months and at that time will basically have to start over studying for it!!
I understand that they're switching from a testing style that they've done for a really long time (essay) to something new for the CPCU exams, but I didn't realize I was taking it in basically a "test phase" window!
The way the testing windows run, when you sign up in a window, you have to pay to switch windows and I was planning on signing up for my next test in the April 15-June 15 window, but if I find out in March that I failed this test, I'll need to retake this one in that window so now in my mind, I can't sign up for a new test in that window until I know for sure that I passed the one I'm taking on Wednesday. I guess the upside to this is that I won't have to study for the new few months...
Geez...I just had to vent a little about that because know I feel like I should have just waited and taken the test in March since I wouldn't find out my test score any time sooner...too late now! Boy do I wish I would have know this...and I was so excited to be taking a Multiple Choice test instead of an Essay test.
Now that I've taken a break from studying, time to start my multiple choice test that needs to be "analyzed" when I'm done with it! Just need to remind myself that I only have 7 more tests to go after this one and then I get to go on a trip somewhere depending on what year I finish all 8 tests in!
On a side note...we're thinking about getting another dog. Are we crazy!?

Larry and the Vikings
I wasn't sure what to title this post but Friday night we had Jeremy's work Christmas Party and went out to eat at Bostons and went to Larry the Cable Guy at the State Theater in the cities! His opening act was really funny and Larry was hilarious as well! It was a great time and Jeremy has his first experience at a real theater :)
Today we went to the Vikings vs. Cowboys game which ended up being more of a blowout than we expected! Espcially since 90% of the commentators expected to the Cowboys to win - GO VIKINGS! Onto New Orleans next weekend and hopefully onto the Super Bowl!
Back to studying for my test which is on the 27th...7 more to go after this one...apparently I'm going to be taking tests for quite a while yet!

New Years
Christmas in Cambridge
So we thought we'd be smart and miss the big snow storm by leaving after work on the 23rd since the snow storm was supposed to hit our area on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, the weather man misjudged the storm and we hit it horribly! Not only was it already dark out, but it was snowing and blowing like crazy! Long story short, we decided to keep going and it took us 7+ hours to get to Cambridge which is normally a 4 hour drive. Yup, 3 extra hours! At least it was worth it since it was Christmas and all ;)
Funny little story from Christmas for everyone. My mom always gets us PJs for Christmas morning which we usually get on Christmas Eve. My mom had set the PJs out on the bed and I "assumed" that she put them on the sides of the bed we slept on. Why I thought my mom knew which side of the bed we slept on, I'm not quite sure, but I thought she did. If you haven't figured it out yet, I wore Jeremy's PJs and he wore mine. I didn't think much of it, just thought the pants were kind of big, although when Jeremy came to bed he did mention his PJs were a little small. Come Christmas morning I woke up first and came out into the living room - no one said anything about the PJs I was wearing. Jeremy comes out and I then realize how SMALL they were on him. How I so wish we would have taken a picture - the shirt was like 3/4 sleeves and the pants were almost like capris! Note in the PJ picture below we have the correct PJs on ;)

We spent the whole weekend at my mom's house and headed home on Sunday for our 4 hour drive home!

Christmas with the Carey's
The weekend before Christmas we went to Eau Claire to have Christmas with Jeremy's side of the family. We did Christmas Saturday afternoon with Grandma Carey and Bob, went to dinner at Pizza Ranch for his Great-Grandma Baehr's family Christmas and then after that had Christmas with Grandma Madson and Aunt Jayne.
Sunday we did Christmas with the immediate family and we loved our gifts - Thanks! Maple loved her new toys and is still working on destroying them!

Jeremy's 25th Birthday
So I am extremely behind on my posting as I've been so busy with the holidays and studying for my next test!
Jeremy turned 25 on December 11th but we didn't do anything too exciting for his birthday. On his birthday we went to Rochester to get new phones and go out to dinner. Good thing was we got new phones (Blackberry Curves) but the bad thing was we didn't get out of the Verizon store until after 9:00!! Luckily it was a Friday night so we still went out to dinner at a really good restaruant in Rochester called Newt's. They have the best burgers!!
That Saturday my dad, Jeremy's parents and Jessica came down to visit us. We went out to lunch, had birthday cake and just hung out. Just wanted to point out that I made the birthday cake...I'm not much of baker, but I did make it Vikings themed for him :)
