First Sleepover

This past weekend we went to Eau Claire and Sawyer had her first sleepover!  She did great :)  Every once and a while we get a rough night where she doesn't want to sleep but not this weekend.  Thank you Sawyer!

I had two shower's to attend on Saturday, a baby shower for my friend Melissa, and a bridal shower for Jeremy's cousin's fiancee, Julie.  While Sawyer and I were running around on Saturday at showers, Jeremy and his dad were getting ready for deer hunting next weekend.

Sawyer got to meet lots of family this weekend and I even got a few good photos of Easton and Sawyer on Friday night :)

Looks like we're going to have with these two as they grow!

Cousins

Jeremy's parents, Jessica, Tony and Easton came down to visit on Saturday so we thought we'd try to get a few photos of the kid together.  As you'll see, they weren't quite interested in a photo shoot!  Maybe next time we'll have to try to take pictures earlier in the day when they are maybe in better moods :)

This is the best shot I got of them.  At least neither of them are crying in this one.

Time for both of us to cry.

Sawyer's turn to cry.

Now Easton's turn.

Get us out of this chair!!

Grandma and Grandpa Carey with their grandkids.  They liked being held for a picture much better!

Sawyer - 1 month!

How is it possible that Sawyer is already a month old!?  She is such a sweet little girl and I can't imagine our lives without her!

She sure looks pretty tiny in this chair!  Can't wait to see how she grows in it each month :)

She really likes to move her arms around!  I can never get her to keep them down when I'm trying to take pictures of her.

Sawyer has tons of facial expressions and she has the cutest smile!  Daddy has figured out how to make her smile and it's just adorable when she does.

At one month Sawyer...
-weighs in at 8 lbs 7 oz (36th percentile)
-has grown to 20.5 inches (23rd percentile)
-sleeps for 4-5 hour stretches at night.  I really like those 5 hour stretches!
-loves to curl up and cuddle right on my chest, I love when she cuddles with me :)
-is in size 1 diapers.
-doesn't quite fit in her newborn clothes anymore but her 3 month ones are still to big!
-definitely has red hair and it is pretty curly after we give her a bath.
-enjoys bath time until it's time to come out of the tub and get dressed.
-does great in the car - she's been to both Eau Claire and Rochester so far!
-pulls my hair, grabs onto Jeremy's necklace, pulls my shirt...if it's close, she grabs it!

Happy one moth Sawyer, we love you little girl!

Happy Halloween!

Lucky Sawyer got to get dressed up in costumes quite a bit this Halloween!  The first time was on the Friday before Halloween when my boss had a get together at her place for our team and all the kiddos dressed up in their costumes.  Later that night we also went to our friends Whitney & Mark's house for their annual Halloween party.  She did great at both parties!

All dressed up before the Halloween parties.

My mom came to visit for a few days and with her she brought this awesome hot dog costume from her friend Jamie (thanks Jame!).  Sawyer looked so cute in it :)

Family picture with our little hot dog :)

Talking up a storm in her 1st Halloween onesie.  Sawyer is quite the talker...wonder where she gets that from!

Sawyer looks a lot like her daddy in this picture!

Sawyer and Oatie the hot dogs!

Jeremy's awesome pumpkins he carved!

Its always so disappointing the number of trick or treaters that come to our house.  We only had 3 kids this year!  I guess the good thing about that will be we won't have to feel guilty not handing out candy when we take Sawyer trick or treating next year!

3 weeks old!

How is Sawyer 3 weeks old already?  The time is going too fast!  We've been busy the last week but I've also had lots of time to cuddle my little girl :)

Whitney brought her new puppy Oatis over,  Our kiddos are the same size ;)

First time in the Ergo carrier!  I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this!!
Sawyer is pretty content on her boppy!
We've been doing lots of tummy time, mostly on my chest but she likes her mat too!  We can easily get 20 minutes in on here :)  She's definitely working on her neck strength and moves her head from side to side while laying on the mat.

Tummy time with Maple watching every move she makes!

Daddy with Sawyer :)
I made my first visit into the office with Sawyer today and she did great!  I timed it well and she slept the whole time!  She was content no matter who was holding her.  It was great to see everyone!  My teammates gave us a great gift which included the pink blanket in the picture below with her name embroidered on it.  Thanks Mighty Midwesterners :)

Snuggled up in her new blanket.

Hanging out in her rock n play with her soft blanket :)

Love this face!
Little Sawyer has kept us in and out of the clinic, that's for sure! After her two week appointment her bili was still in the 14's so the next route was to feed her formula for 24 hours to bring it down faster.  I was hesitant to do so as I didn't want the bottle to mess up breastfeeding at all, but she's a champ and she went back to breastfeeding perfectly fine!  Plus the formula brought her bili down to 11 and she looks much better! On Friday morning I was a little freaked out when she had quite the bloody diaper.  She has had a little blood here or there, but nothing like this so we headed to the clinic again.  Turns out she more than likely has an allergy to cow's milk protein and the 24 hours of formula made it worse!  Boy oh boy.  So now I need to go dairy free for 2-3 weeks to see if there is improvement and then we can check back in with the doc to see if I can slowly reintroduce dairy products or if I have to continue the dairy free diet the whole time I'm breastfeeding.  We've already seen an improvement in her stools so I think that dairy was the issue!

She also had a plugged tear duct in her right eye.  All of a sudden on Saturday afternoon her eye was crusted shut.  Thankfully we've been able to fix this at home with warm wash clothes, massaging the duct and a little breast milk.  Hopefully this is the last thing our peanut has to deal with for a while.

Bath time is going much better than the first time we gave her one at home.  I wouldn't go so far as to say she loves it, but she no longer cries while she is in the tub so that is a step in the right direction!  Soon enough she'll be loving bath time and will be splashing up a storm :)

I have finally gotten over my fear of having Sawyer sleep in her room...well maybe not over it, but I'm doing better :)  She's had an issue with gagging so I've been nervous about not having her next to me in case she isn't able to swallow it.  She had been sleeping in her rock n play as she was slightly elevated but as of Sunday, she's been in her crib.  It doesn't matter to her where she is, she sleeps the same, it's just me being a worry wart.  Her gagging has gotten much better so I'm a little less nervous but I have this feeling I'll never stop worrying about her!

All swaddled up in her crib :)
Sawyer and I made a trip to the amazing newborn clinic today to get her weighed in.  She's doing great and is up to 7 lbs 14 oz!!  Still only the 29th percentile but she's gaining weight so that's all that matters :)

How cute is she?  Of course I'm biased but I think she is precious!  You can really see the hair color resemblance in this picture!

Scrapbooking pages!

I've had some time to make a couple of digital scrapbook pages while Sawyer naps on my chest.  I'm excited to be getting back into the scrapbooking now that I have all these adorable pictures to use :)
