Vacation at The Wilderness

This past weekend Jeremy and I headed off to the Wisconsin Dells for a mini vacation!  We left on Sunday and stayed at The Wilderness Resort until Wednesday.  Jeremy parents were kind enough to let us use their time share and Dave was able to upgrade us to a Presidential Suite!  The room was amazing...it was bigger and way nicer than any apartment we ever had!

As a forewarning, I must have had my camera on a bad ISO setting because al the pictures are really pixelly...whoops!

Full Kitchen - We actually cooked about half our meals while we were there!

Full out dinning room with huge end chairs!  Sad to say, we never ate at the table - we ate at either the bar in the kitchen or in the living room, we were on vacation right?

The awesome living room!  We lounged around a lot on that couch and I did quite a bit of reading in that chair, it was so comfy!

We did a lot of mini golfing on the trip!  All the mini golf courses were 3D so they were painted all funky and you could wear the glasses.  Personally, they made me dizzy so I never wore them!

One of the few pics of us together while mini golfing.

The first mini golf course we did had an aquariem in it as well.

Mom, this guy looked like the shark you caught in Florida!

A valentine's day treat for breakfast! Heart shapped donuts from Dunkin' Donuts.

Jeremy got a hole in one!

We had played mini golf twice and Jeremy won the first time by two strokes and then I won the second came by two strokes.  For our last game, Jeremy said he would wear the goggles so I'd have a better chance to win but even with the goggles, he still beat me by one stroke!

When we weren't playing mini golf or lounging around the room, you could have found us in one of the pools or the arcade!  I must say, we really rocked in the arcade and Maple received three presents from all our tickets :)

While in the Dells we tried out a few different restaurants than we normally go to - we went to Monk's Bar & Grill, ordered pizza from Uno's Chicago Grill and ate at Sprecher's on Valentine's day.  We had planned to eat breakfast at this place called Paul Bunyann's, but being winter, it was closed!  Maybe next time.

If you're looking for a good getaway during the winter, I would recommend The Wilderness!  It has four water parks, 3 mini golf courses, lots of arcades, bumper boats, plenty of water slides and more!

Baby Cruise's Shower!

This past weekend Jeremy and I drove over to Merrill, WI for my cousin Alyssa's baby shower for her little boy that is due the end of March.  She got a ton of really nice stuff and the food was soo good!  My cousin Kailey did a great job planning the shower for Alyssa and it was a fun day.

All the gifts!

The dessert table!  The chocolate chip cookie dough truffles are on the far right :)

Who doesn't love cake!?

I hope baby Cruise let's mommy sleep over the next couple months so she's not too exhausted before he's even born!

Cousins :)

Grandma Becky, Alyssa and Aunt Kailey

It was nice going home for the weekend and getting to see family!  My dad travels all over for work and he's heading to North Caroline shortly so I'm glad we were able to see him before he headed out.

Baby Cruise is one lucky little fellow and we can't wait for him to make his entrance into the world!

I forgot to add this picture last night when I posted, but here are the shower invites that I made!

Hostess of the month!

This past month I feel like I did a lot of hosting!  On the 10th we threw a small baby shower for my friend Stacy who is due in less than two weeks now!  So exciting :)  She registered at diapers.com and we all pitched in to order her a variety of stuff from the registry!  What a great website!

On the 24th I hosted our third book club!  We read The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards and it was a good book to read for book club as there were lots of things to discuss!

Last night I hosted a Stampin' Up party and we made a super cute card and a fun butterfly magnet!  I can't wait to put my order in because I have a million things I want to make when I get my new stuff.

My favorite part of hosting is all the yummy things I get to bake!  For anyone else that enjoys baking, here were a few of the items I made for each one:

Baby Shower

Book Club
Tastefully Simple Wheat Beer Bread
Tastefully Simple Spinach and Herb Dip w/veggie tray
Tastefully Simple Garlic Dip
Trader Joe's Bruschetta

Stampin' Up Party
Chili (recipe I got from Jeremy's cousin's fiance)

This past weekend was also my cousin's baby shower and although I wasn't in charge, I did make some of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles and after having them at book club, taking them into work, her shower and the stampin' up party, I'm pretty sure they are one of the BEST desserts I've ever had.  I highly recommend trying them out :)  And for anyone that's pregnant out there, there is no egg in them so they are perfectly fine for mom and baby!!

Spam Museum

If anyone is looking for a fun field trip, the Spam Museum is only thirty minutes from our house!  Lindsey came to visit in mid-January and we decided to head down to Austin to check it out.  After living here for four years I had never made the trip so we thought it was about time!

The museum was actually very interesting and we had fun on our little field trip :)

Lindsey and I both have yet to try Spam but after seeing all the different ways you can use it, I might just have to try it!
